VDA Operations during COVID-19 Crisis

March 17, 2020

VDA is monitoring the rapidly evolving situation surrounding the current 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Outbreak. Our first priority is to ensure that we are continuing to promote a safe and healthy work environment, both within our own facilities, as well as during Client and/or site visits, when required.

VDA requires that if an employee is planning personal travel to areas listed as Level 3 or higher in the CDC’s travel guidelines, they are required to speak with their manager prior to their trip, as well as prior to their return to the office, to determine the appropriate return to work protocol at that time. A current list of COVID-19 Risk Assessment Levels and other travel notices can be found at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/index.html. The intent of this policy is to require persons returning from travel from high risk locations to comply with the current CDC recommendations as of their date of travel return. Currently, this is a 14-day self-quarantine and social distancing routine further described in the CDC website. However, the CDC recommendations are always subject to change and need to be monitored for updates.

In addition, VDA requires its employees to stay at home if they feel sick. If it is suspected that an employee may have been infected with the COVID-19 virus, the employee is only permitted to return to work after complying with the then current CDC guidelines.

As North America’s premier elevator consulting firm, we’ve dealt with various emergencies and challenges in the past, successfully!
