Onsite review and coordination to ensure equipment is built and installed as specified

Typically, a meeting is held between all parties including but not limited to; consultant, client’s project management team, construction manager and/or general contractor (if applicable), contractors, & sub-contractors to clearly understand everyone’s role and project scope. Schedules and timelines are provided to align all parties on a project’s upcoming commencement.

These visits are to evaluate work in progress by the elevator contractor. After each visit, VDA issues a written letter/report on the findings. Reports include percentage complete, number of crews on site, material on-site and waiting for delivery as well as any coordination issues with other trades which may be affecting the installation progress of the elevators/escalators. The reports include both written information as well as documented photographs of site conditions.

These services often occur through on-going project coordination efforts that either the contractor or other parties are not providing per client’s expectation. As a result, we rarely account for the cost and/or get paid to complete this work by the client. Services include but are not limited to, AIA contract review/final contract negotiation, coordination of selection meetings between owner and contractor, obtaining detailed milestone schedule from contractor, obtain periodic updates from contractor regarding project status, attending periodic meetings and issuance of minutes from progress meetings.

These services are generally specific in nature and typically fall outside the norm and/or scopes of work outlined herein.
