Bal Harbour Shops, Miami, FL

The Bal Harbour Shops opened in 1965 and grew to become internationally known for it’s retail and open-air design. In 2017, the owners and developers sought to expand their retail space and add 340,000 sq. ft. with a focus on upgrades to the dining options and high end retail shops.

During the expansion project, VDA was brought in to provide elevator and escalator consulting services for the design of four (4) new elevators and one (1) escalator to serve the 96^th Street Garage. Services for the design of three (3) identical escalator groups were provided for the Saks Store Court. In addition, new construction and design services were provided for the Mall expansion, and included six (6) escalators, two (2) custom exterior glass elevators, and three (3) service elevators.
