One Wall Street is located in the financial district of Manhattan. Built in 1929 and completed in 1931, the commercial tower has been home to a variety of tenants over the years and was designated a Landmark building in 2001. VDA has been providing consulting services for design/construction phases, including the evaluation of existing elevators, feasibility studies and traffic analysis to understand the population of the building’s tenants and existing system handling capabilities.

CitiGroup Center, Los Angeles, CA

Citigroup center is a 48-story skyscraper in downtown Los Angeles. The building was completed in 1981 and, at that time, was the fifth-tallest in the city. The building was made famous as the backdrop of the 1980s tv show, LA Law. The building has a popular retail plaza with open terrace levels and an elevated pedestrian bridge that connect the property to the Westin Bonaventure

Located in Denver’s Union Station Neighborhood, this 650,000sf mixed use tower is the newest addition to the ever expanding city. At 19 story’s tall the building is home to a variety of commercial tenants and is rated.

VDA began providing elevator consulting services during the schematic design phase for the new construction of a new 6-story residential building. Our scope of work is for the design of a two-car group elevator system serving the residential building.

VDA is currently providing consulting services for various Marriott Courtyard locations. These services include site surveys to assess the condition of existing elevators and issue a letter report with our findings. Depending on these findings, services may include the upgrade/modernization of the existing equipment. When required, provide complete services thru installation commissioning.

Millennium Hotels and Resorts, Various Locations

VDA is currently providing a number of our offered services at nearly 20 properties for the Millennium Hotels and Resorts group. These services include the survey and evaluation of existing equipment and issuing reports with our findings, witness testing services, Maintenance Service contracts and full modernization of equipment where needed.

Retail - VDA has developed extensive experience in Retail Related Projects and we are particularly sensitive to the different elevatoring needs of all management and consumers. We have a history of providing our full range of services for a number of big box retail locations.

Empire Outlets, Staten Island, NY

Empire Outlets, aka Harbor Commons, is a 350,000 sq. ft. retail complex featuring 100 designer outlets and a 120,000 sq. ft. hotel. The complex is the first outlet mall in New York City and is located next to the St. George Terminal.
VDA is providing consulting services for the vertical transportation system in a new mixed-use building including space for 350,000 sf for retail, 130,000 gsf for a hotel, 20,000 gsf for a banquet and 500,00 sf for a parking garage.

Trader Joe’s , Various Locations

VDA is currently providing consulting services for various locations for Trader Joe’s across the country. Our services have included mandatory inspections of equipment based on state regulations, modernization of outdated equipment and the installation of new equipment at new stores or warehouses.

High Street Development, Dunwoody, GA –

Developed by GID Development in 2007, High Street Dunwoody is a new city center for Atlanta’s northern suburb. The new ‘downtown’ area will include a mix of high-, mid-, and low-rise buildings consisting of 750 hotel rooms, 3,000 residential units, 8 million sq. ft. of mixed-use space, 400,000 sq. ft. of retail and restaurant space, 1 million sq. ft. of Class A office space and 8,500 parking spaces.
VDA is providing full consulting services from design through shop drawings review elevators and escalators at the new 41-acre mixed-use development project.

40 Thorndike Street, Cambridge, MA

What was once the Sullivan Courthouse, is currently being redeveloped to an updated mixed-use building with an active streetscape and open spaces for the neighborhood. Once the project is complete there will be 16 floors of dedicated commercial space in the upper portion of the building and below will be two floors of residential space, with a lobby and retail below that.

Educational - Over the years, VDA has developed an expertise in providing our servicers for various educational facilities, ranging from Pre-K – 12 and Higher Education. In addition to projects involving equipment evaluations and development of master plans. VDA currently is involved in master plan development, new construction, modernization projects, and vertical transportation equipment evaluations for major universities and private and public elementary/secondary schools throughout the Northeast and Middle Atlantic. These include planning ADA upgrades, renovations, and additions.

Wake Forest University-Maintenance Agreement, Winston-Salem, NC

VDA provided vertical transportation consulting services for document preparation, bid review for the maintenance agreement for modernization of existing elevators at Wake Forest University.

University of Illinois-Chicago Campus, Chicago, IL

VDA provided elevator consulting services for the for the survey, evaluation, report and maintenance agreement for more than 250 of elevators and escalators on the Chicago Campus at the University of Illinois.

NYCSA - P.S. 62R, Staten Island, NY

P.S. 62 The Kathleen Grimm School for Leadership and Sustainability at Sandy Ground is the first net zero energy school in New York City. The 68,000-square-foot, two-story school serves 444 pre-kindergarten through fifth grade students.

VDA provided full vertical transportation consulting services from design-construction administration for new passenger elevators serving the school.

Sanford Fargo Acute Care Hospital, Fargo, ND

VDA provided vertical transportation consulting services for the schematic design of the elevators in this new medical center with 1,041,000 gsf., 380 beds, a trauma center and out-patient clinics.

Kaiser Permanente-NorCal Portfolio, Various Locations, CA

VDA is currently providing consulting services at eighty-four (84) Kaiser Foundation owned facilities. These services include site surveys to assess the condition of 488 existing elevators and issue a letter report with our findings. Depending on these findings, services may include the upgrade/modernization of the existing equipment. When required, provide complete services thru installation commissioning.

Washington University Medical Center Campus Renewal, St. Louis, MO

VDA is providing vertical transportation consulting service for the Phase 1 new construction work, which includes Barnes-Jewish Hospital (North Tower), Department of Microbiology & Immunology, St. Louis Children’s Hospital expansion and the Medical Office building.

The New Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY

The Whitney Museum of American Art — known as “The Whitney” — is a New York City art museum with a focus on 20th- and 21st-century American art. It was founded in 1931 by Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney (1875-1942), a wealthy and prominent American socialite and art patron.
The new building will include approximately 50,000 square feet of indoor galleries and 13,000 square feet of outdoor exhibition space and terraces facing the High Line. An expansive gallery for special exhibitions will be approximately 18,000 square feet in area, making it the largest column-free museum gallery in New York City. Additional exhibition space includes a lobby gallery, two floors for the permanent collection, and a special exhibitions gallery on the top floor.

Transportation/Mass Transit – From the largest airports to mass transit and train stations, VDA has provided New Construction, Modernization and the survey of existing equipment in them all. We have developed an expertise in elevators, escalators and moving walks to handle the capacity of a particular transit project.

Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, Charlotte, NC

In May 2014, VDA began providing vertical transportation consulting services for the Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Our services included the preparation of an equipment maintenance agreement, the condition assessments of various vertical circulation equipment throughout the airport and modernization assessments, recommendations, specifications, bid assistance and construction administration services. VDA has also provided the preliminary evaluation of existing elevators, escalators and moving walks. In addition, VDA is currently working with Perkins + Will to provide consulting services from schematic design through shop drawing review for the installation of new moving walks in the Terminal A North Expansion project.

Abu Dhabi International Airport-Midfield Terminal Complex, Abu Dhabi, UAE

This 450,000 sqm project forms a modern gateway to the capital of the UAE and is expected to add 40 million passengers to the airport’s handling capacity by 2012, in addition to processing more than two million tons of cargo annually. The design features large, column-free zones in an efficient X-shaped plan to minimize walking distances and maximize aircraft parking. The initial 42-gate facility is expandable to 67 gates. VDA provided full consulting services through construction administration for new elevators, escalators and moving walks.

Minneapolis- St. Paul International Airport, Minneapolis, MN

Since June 2003, VDA has been providing consulting services to the MAC for the purpose of evaluating contractor performance relative to the terms and conditions of the “MAC Master Conveyance System” Performance based maintenance contract for existing elevators, escalators, moving walks and miscellaneous lift systems at MAC facilities. In addition, VDA provides similar services for two automated APM systems under a separate contract.

Government - Over the years, VDA has provided services for construction and modernization projects in Courthouses, County Municipal buildings, County facilities and correctional facilities. We have developed an expertise in the design of security and limited access requirements for elevator systems. With these elevators, as well as with prisoner, jury and judges' elevators in courthouses, we carefully consider special traffic requirements in order to design efficient and cost-effective elevator systems.
