Bard College - Gabrielle H. Reem and Herbert J. Kayden Center for Science and Computation
Annandale-on-Hudson, NY

The Gabrielle H. Reem and Herbert J. Kayden Center for Science and Computation, is a dramatic 49,000 sq. ft. building devoted to biology, mathmatics and computer science, with modern teaching and research laboratories, high-tech classroooms, and a 60-seat auditorium.

The Center features glass exterior walls, a large atrium, and an open floor plan for multidisciplinary spaces.  The lobby has four freestanding pods which house an auditorium, two lecture rooms and a seminar room.  Faculty offices cantilever above the lobby on the second floor and are accessible through an open corridor that overlooks the lobby and expands to study terraces over the pods.

VDA provided consulting services through construction administration for one (1) passenger elevator and one (1) service elevator. Groundbreaking was in 2005, and the project opened to students and faculty on September 23, 2007.
