BellTel Lofts

This landmark Art Deco building, originally designed in the late 1020s as the New York Telephone Company Long Island Headquarters, has been transformed into a luxury condominium building with 219 residences and 13 professional units, and retail space on the first level.  BellTel Lofts offers one-, two- and three-bedroom loft homes from 600 to 2,700 square feet, many with breathtaking panoramic views and private outdoor space.

VDA provided full services for the vertical transportation units in the renovation project.  Of the six (6) original gearless elevators, two (2) were removed from service and the other four (4) were modernized as a four-car group.  A new 4-stop dual-roped holeless hydraulic elevator was added to serve the amenity floors; and two (2) new 8,000 lb. capacity freight elevators were added to serve as automobile lifts.  In addition, there were two (2) new residential elevators added to serve the 2-story penthouse apartments.  The project was completed in 2007.
