Bowdoin College - Walker Art Museum

This $20 million renovation project preserved the landmark building’s original facade and provided a new detached entrance pavilion on the south side of the building (between Walker Art Building and Gibson Hall) with stairs leading down to a new lower-level entrance court. There is also a modest, new rear addition that provides new gallery space and a view into the interior of the building from the street, while respecting the original geometry of the structure.

VDA provided full services through construction administration for two (2) new hydraulic elevators to provide full accessibility throughout the building.  The project was completed in October 2007.
