New York Public Library - Bronx Library Center
New York Public Library - Bronx Library Center
The Bronx Library Center, which opened early in 2006, replaced the Fordham Branch Library and, at five stories and 178,000 sq. ft., the new building is three times the size of the facility it replaced. The Bronx Library Center houses more than 200,000 books and provides more than 150 public access computers. The $53 million project received LEED® Silver rating in July 2006, and is the first New York City municipal building to achieve LEED certification.
VDA provided consulting services for three (3) geared traction elevators and one (1) dumbwaiter during construction document and contract administration phases.
