VDA provided consulting services for 14 new elevators and 2 new escalators in an adaptive reuse of the historic Sears retail and catalog site, known as Midtown Exchange, on Lake Street in South Minneapolis.

The 1.2 million sq. ft. project development includes Allina Common, a 250,000 sq. ft. corporate headquarters for Allina Hospitals & Clinics; a 125-room Sheraton Hotel; rental housing; townhouse/condominium ownership housing; and restaurants and retail space.

The $142 million project, the largest redevelopment project in Minneapolis to date, was completed in June 2006.
