COMPANY HISTORY

VDA was founded in December 1980 by John A Van Deusen. Within three years, Ahmet Tanyeri, Thomas Olenick, and John Beckmann would join the company as additional principals – each of whom were industry experts with a wealth of technical knowledge and diverse business experience. From there, the firm and its reputation grew exponentially. In 1990, with a staff of eight and more than 550 completed projects to its credit, the firm rebranded itself as Van Deusen & Associates and moved to larger Livingston headquarters.

When the company celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2005, the founding Principals implemented a five-year transition plan to integrate new Ownership while continuing to keep the firm privately owned and operated. The core four turned to their Senior Vice Presidents: M. Wade Smith, Robert Cuzzi, Thomas Stack, and Hakan Tanyeri to take over the reins of the company in 2010. Believing in a “promote from within” philosophy, while encouraging both personal and professional growth, it was clear this choice was the right one to make.

Now officially known as VDA, the company has expanded its footprint across the United States and has offices within all major markets.

Meeting clients’ goals and exceeding their expectations is the force behind VDA’s founding and the key to earning recognition as the World Leader in Vertical Transportation Consulting.
