International Terminal One, Philadelphia International Airport
Philadelphia, PA

The Philadelphia Airport International Terminal One serves as the international gateway to Philadelphia and the existing airport terminals. The new 807,293 sq. ft. facility is a large clad truss structure spanning the approach road with an adjacent transparent vertical wall providing views of the airfield.

VDA provided full consulting services through construction administration for 23 hydraulic and geared traction elevators, 19 escalators and 18 moving walks in this 4-level, fast track project with approximately 800,000 sq. ft.

The $550 million facility, which opened in May 2003, added 13 new international gates to its 7 existing ones in Terminal A-East.
