VDA was involved in Hong Kong Land Limited's redevelopment of the old Swire House site at 11 Chater Road, in the heart of Hong Kong's Central business district, since its very beginnning. Chater House is a 23-story office tower of 438,500 sq. ft. with telecommunications, electrical and mechanical features designed for the specific needs of investment banking and financial services tenants. The tower is above a 3-story podium with 45,000 sq. ft. of retail space. There are 3 additional, below-grade levels for parking.

Chater House is the link between properties to the north of Connaught Road Central with those to the south via pedestrian bridges through the building's first floor concourse. The footbridge system in the Central business District in Hong Kong connects 11 Hong Kong Land properties and was designed to separate pedestrians from vehicular traffic while providing comfortable, convenient movement between the buildings.

VDA provided services from design phase through construction administration for 20 gearless elevators, a standard in-ground hydraulic elevator, and 8 escalators. The project was completed in 2002.
