The $850 million Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, completed in 2Q 2004, dramatically increases Boston's capacity to host trade shows and professional association shows. The facility includes a sub-divisible 600,000 sq. ft. exhibition hall on one level, as well as a 40,020 sq. ft. ballroom, and 84 meeting rooms totaling more than 160,000 sq. ft. A 1,000-car parking garage and a 68-berth loading dock are completely enclosed and away from view of the surrounding neighborhood. VDA provided full consulting services for 62 building transportation systems (34 escalators/28 elevators).
